Contract basis
PROVISIT-VISUM is a combination of legally independent insurance contracts exclusively sold by Dr. Walter GmbH and its partners.
This travel health insurance is based on the General Insurance Conditions (AVB-AR-365 / 2008). Notwithstanding § 3 par. 2 of the General Insurance Conditions, persons can be insured up to 180 days. Notwithstanding § 1 par. 5 of the General Insurance Conditions, persons who do not do physical work can be insured up to 180 days.
The sum insured for private liability insurance is 1 Million € for bodily injuries and property damages. The General Insurance Conditions for Liability Insurance (AHB-Reise) apply together with the Special Conditions for Travel Liability Insurance (if agreed).
The sum insured for disability caused by an accident is 30,000 € (with no increase in the sum insured in proportion to the degree of disability); in the event of death, the sum is 5,000 €. The General Insurance Conditions for Accident Insurance (AUB 2008) apply together with the Special Conditions for Travel Accident Insurance (BB-RUV 2008) and the Special Conditions for Travel Accident Insurance with progressive proportion (225%) (if agreed).
The insurance policy is governed by German Law. In case of appeal, the responsible supervisory authority is the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (Federal Financial Supervisory Authority), Graurheindorfer Str. 108, 53117 Bonn.
In case of appeal, you are furthermore entitled to apply to an extra-judicial arbitrator:
- If you have any complaints regarding health insurance topics, please direct them to the ombudsman for private health and long term care insurance: Ombudsmann Private Kranken- und Pflegeversicherung, Postfach 060222, 10052 Berlin.
- Please direct all other complaints to the insurance ombudsman: Versicherungs-Ombudsmann e. V., Postfach 080632, 10006 Berlin.
The ombudsman is both extra-judicial arbitrator for the settlement of disputes regarding insurance contracts with consumers and for the settlement of disputes between insurance brokers and insured persons. His decisions are not binding for the insurer. The possibility of initiating legal proceedings remains unaffected.

Right of revocation
You may revoke your application without indicating reasons by regular mail, fax, E-Mail, within 14 days of concluding the contract. To adhere to this time limit, it is sufficient to send your declaration in goodtime.
